Gallusove sladke minime

Published on: June 9, 2020

To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Institute of Musicology a promotional gift called Gallus’s Sweet Minimae has been created in collaboration with a Slovenian country chocolaterie Passero from Tešanovci in Prekmurje (http://passero.si/pdfs/ENG-Catalogue-Country-Chocolaterie.pdf). The product is a box of chocolate pralines which informs the recipient on the foremost Renaissance composer originating from the territory of present-day Slovenia Iacobus Handl-Gallus (1550–1591). The box contains two types of local flavours from Prekmurje in a form of lozenge-shaped pralines symbolizing minimae and semiminimae of white mensural notation in which Gallus’s music was written. The accompanying texts are bilingual and the product thus intends to promote Slovenian cultural heritage at large.
