
Dr. Marko Motnik Presents a Scholarly Monograph on the Musical Journey of Sophie Linhart
On Monday, February 17, 2025, the Peterlin Hall in Trieste hosted the presentation of the scholarly monograph Glasbena pot Sophie Linhart: Po sledeh družine Antona Tomaža Linharta (Sophie Linhart’s Musical Career: In the Footsteps of A. T. Linhart’s Family) by dr. Marko Motnik. The event was organized by the Društvo slovenskih izobražencev (Slovenian Intellectuals Association) in collaboration with Glasbena Matica.
In his lecture, Dr. Motnik shed light on Sophie Linhart’s musical legacy and the role of her family in the cultural landscape of the time. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with fascinating historical insights and new discoveries presented in the monograph, as well as to discuss the significance of studying Slovenia’s musical heritage.
On this occasion, Dr. Motnik also spoke about his book in an interview for Trieste’s Studio D radio.
